103 Series Models

The 103 series was a major design change incorporating a new frame with a large pushbutton takedown release. Most of the guns in this series are marked "Model 103" on right side of the slide. The later guns are not marked The 103 series was produced 1960 to 1963 except the Sport King and Sharpshooter, see below. The serial number ranges are best estimates as of the revision date.

Supermatic Trophy

A .22 LR caliber semiautomatic pistol with a 10 shot magazine. A tapered barrel with an enlarged register at the muzzle end to hold a removable muzzle brake. Super polished blue finish; adjustable sights; 2 and 3 oz. adjustable weights, checkered walnut thumb rest grips. Grooved front and back straps on frame. Occasionally sold as a combination including two barrels.

Like the Supermatic Trophy with checkered plastic grips. Blued finish without theTrophy's super polished finish. Grooved front and back straps on frame. . Also produced with US marking for the military. Occasionally found with the optional light oak case.

Sport King

A .22 LR caliber semiautomatic pistol with a 10 shot magazine. Barrels are lightweight, round, and tapered.. Blued finish; fixed sights; checkered plastic grips. Available with 4.50" or 6.75" barrel lengths. Produced 1961 to 1970 and 1973 to 1977. Also available 1973 to 1977 with nickel finish. Note later production not marked 103.

Sharpshooter

A .22 LR caliber semiautomatic pistol with a 10 shot magazine. 5.50" bull barrel, blued finish; adjustable sights; checkered plastic grips. Some produced with Model 103 marked slides. Although the 103 marked guns have 1969 and 1970 serial numbers they were shipped after the introduction of the Sharpshooter in 1971 and were converted from unsold Sport Kings. Variation without "MODEL 103" maked on slide is the most plentiful. Three styles grips known; walnut thumbrest grips with no logo, walnut thumbrest grips with logo, and plastic grips with logo.
